The plugin isn't working correctly. What should I do?

If the plugin isn't working for you, here's a few steps to help you troubleshoot the problem.

  1. Find the demo Chatfuel Block or demo ManyChat flow for the plugin you are having trouble with.
  2. Check your Access Key - Provide your access key and secret key in the block/flow and test it.  If the block/flow is working, then your keys are valid and working. The issue is most likely with the setup of the plugin.  Refer to the plugin documentation and make sure that you're providing all the required information and all values are valid.  Also check to make sure that the URL is correct and starts with HTTPS not HTTP.
  3. For Chatfuel -- use the "Test the Request" button on the JSON API card.   If this is the very first time you are testing the flow or if your Bot logic clears certain user attributes at the beginning or end of your block, the data you are sending to CodelessBot via "Test the Request" may not be the same as data sent when you are normally using the Bot.  You can use text messages to display the value of user attributes just before theJSON API.  If the request was a success you will receive a 200 OK status at the top, otherwise you will receive a different status and the Response Body will contain a detailed message about the cause of the error.
  4. For ManyChat -- use the "Test the Request" button on the External Request Action or Dynamic Content Block.  Before testing the request review the Body of the request.  Verify that the Preview shows the exact values you wanted to send to CodelessBot.  If this is the very first time you are testing the flow or if your Bot logic clears certain custom fields at the beginning or end of your flow, the data you are sending to CodelessBot via "Test the Request" may not be the same as data sent when you are normally using the Bot.  You can use text messages to display the value of custom fields just before the External Request action.  If the request was a success you will receive a 200 OK status at the top, otherwise you will receive a different status and the Response Body will contain a detailed message about the cause of the error.
  5. For Mobile Monkey -- use the "Test connection" button on the Connection's configuration screen.  When prompted provide the appropriate values for cbot_accesskey, cbot_secretkey, and any other parameters required for your connection.   Then press "Send Test", if the request was a success you will see a response that looks appropriate for the plugin.

    Important:
At the time of this writing, the Mobile Monkey test connection will always display a green check mark, even if the connection failed to get a 200 OK response.  Always read the actual response received.  A successful response should NOT say "Invalid request" or "CodelessBot_Validation".
